Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority is responsible for two ports that are of
primary significance for the Polish economy. It is a joint-stock company with the
majority interest of the State Treasury. Responsibili es of the Seaports Authority
include:
ź management of the ports and their infrastructure;
ź planning and development;
ź construc on, expansion, maintenance and moderniza on of port infrastructure;
ź acquisi on of land for development
ź provision of infrastructure and support services for port service companies
ź se ng of port dues according to a published tariff.
Responsibility for opera ng terminals is handed over to various independent port
operators.
Ports Szczecin-Świnoujście are universal and one of the largest port complexes on the
Bal c. In Świnoujście the main elements of handling offer is the terminal for dry bulk
cargo and the ferry terminal for connec ons to/from Sweden as well as the LNG
terminal in outer port. Szczecin offers services both to general cargo (containers, steel
products, forest products and heavy li s) and to bulk cargo (dry and liquid). Both ports
offer also services for agri-food products. Yearly turnover of the port complex
amounts over 33 million tons.
The Seaports Authority aims at crea ng a favorable environment in which the whole
ports community can prosper. Therefore it implements its development programme.
It is one of the largest investors u lizing EU funding in the region. The Seaports
Development Strategy un l 2027 provides for investment in the Szczecin-Świnoujście
port complex of nearly EUR310 milion.
